A new singing group open to all is starting in Wigton on April 13th!
We Can't Wait to Welcome You!
The Cloudless Community Choir is for everyone who wants to sing or explore the benefits that singing can bring. You don't have to be able to read music. You don't have to believe you are a good singer. You might be feeling that you could do with getting out more and trying something new.
There is ample evidence that singing in a group does you good. Better health, mental and physical, increased confidence, friendship ……and cake. You can’t beat a bit of cake with tea and biscuits after a singing session.
We will meet at 7pm each Monday at The John Peel Theatre, Station Road, Wigton.
Go in by the side door on the right of the main entrance - the main entrance at the front is for performances and we need to sign you in and out of the building. You'll quickly learn to do this yourself if you become a regular member.
We intend to spend about an hour and a half working on our repertoire including warm ups and vocal techniques. Then for the last half hour or so we will be enjoying a cup of tea and cake (did I mention cake?…) and socialising.
Bring a bottle of water with you. You will be using your vocal cords, and if you are not used to singing continuously you will find your throat gets hot and dry quite quickly.
If you are used to singing, you know to bring a bottle of water, don’t you.
There is no charge for the first week or if it is your first visit. If you decide to join, and we very much hope you do, the fee is £20 per calendar month payable at the first Monday of the month. The charge for new members will be £5 per week for each week of the month leading up to the new month.
We promise to do our best to make you feel welcome and treated with respect and courtesy.
We expect everyone to adhere to and embrace this simple philosophy. Speaking of embracing....
if you have special needs and need to bring support, your support will not have to pay.
