Rehearsals
The choir shall normally rehearse once a week on a Monday evening from 7.00-9.00 at The John Peel Theatre in Wigton, Cumbria. Should this venue be unavailable due to theatre commitments alternative arrangements will be made to meet or alter timings. If a change is made the Secretary or a nominated person will contact members.
Equality.
The Choir shall be committed to equality in all its functioning, both internal and external. It will seek to act against discrimination of any kind.
Aims and objectives.
To learn and perform music to enjoy and share with others.
To perform publicly for the purposes of entertainment at public, community events and functions.
Membership.
Membership is open to anyone over the age of 13.
Membership fees.
Currently set at £20 payable monthly on the first Monday of the month by all with the exception of carers of adults and teenagers with special needs. Those members over 13 and under 18 must be accompanied by a fee paying member. The first session is free for new people looking to join.
Members are asked to pay promptly without the need for reminders and any member not paying fees in full will be deemed to be inactive and removed from the member roll. Inactive members may become active again if membership fees are fully paid.
Attendance.
Members are asked to attend rehearsals and public performances as often as they can. If a member is unable to attend the secretary or any other member of the committee should be informed.
Members are required to sign in to the Theatre by ipad each rehearsal and respect the venue’s fixtures and fittings.
