The Committee is responsible for the aims and objectives of the choir and that members observe the constitution. They shall ensure that activities are carried out in a democratic way and in the best interests of the choir. They shall receive the accounts and decide on fundraisers and policy.
They shall meet every six to eight weeks or when necessary.
The quorum for meetings shall be four members.
The AGM will be held yearly to;
elect officers,
receive a statement of accounts,
receive a report from the MD,
discuss any policy or membership change.
An extraordinary general meeting may be called at any time with 7 days notice.
Choir Committee.
The choir shall be the responsibility of the choir committee and shall insure that the choir is managed in a democratic way. Members will take collective responsibility for decisions made at a meeting of the committee.
The Committee consists of;

Musical Director
Secretary
Treasurer/member secretary. Hon Office.
Publicity Officer
Up to 6 other committee members.
Members can be co-opted as necessary to cover absence,etc.
Terms of office
All committee members will serve for a period of one year and be eligible for re-election at the AGM in subsequent years.
Areas of responsibility.
Musical Director.
The MD will oversee all choir tuition, stage presence and concert management. Fees will be agreed by discussion with the committee.
Chair.
An honorary role which promotes the ethos of the choir and be an official spokesperson for the membership. Will preside over committee meetings and provide notice of the agenda. The chair will encourage the participation of everyone.
Secretary.
An honorary role providing a point of contact for members. To take and produce minutes from meetings and provide an agenda. To notify choir members of dates of events and write communications on behalf of the choir.
Treasurer/ Membership secretary.
An honorary role responsible for keeping the accounts up to date, pay invoices promptly and keep the committee informed of the financial position of the choir. Ensure bank signatories are kept up to date if required. Responsible for enrolling new members and keeping records of such securely.
PR and Publicity Officer.
Will promote and be responsible for raising the profile of the choir. Produce posters and flyers for various events.
Code of conduct.
Each member shall conduct themselves in keeping with the standards expected as laid down in the constitution, including whilst performing for the public.
Medical Issues.
The secretary or a member of the committee must be made aware of any medical issues arising with members. Members are requested to take sufficient care of their own welfare.
Health and Safety.
Members have a duty of care for themselves. The choir cannot take responsibility for any injury, however caused. If there is any issue with a venue members are asked to notify a committee member immediately to ensure all measures can be taken to rectify this.
Public engagement and fees.
Requests for performances should be directed to the Secretary who will consult the committee. The choir may perform to raise funds for agreed causes including the choir itself. Members are expected to support these events. Fees and donations should be paid to the treasurer.
Issue of choir music.
Members will be issued folders with lyrics of songs.
Social Activity.
This is to be encouraged wherever possible.
